Janashakthi Insurance celebrates golden win at National Business Excellence Awards

Janashakthi Insurance PLC shone at the National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA), picking up a Gold award in the Insurance category. The award follows in the wake of a spate of other awards the company recently notched up.
The win is the highest affirmation of Janashakthi Insurance’s continued efforts to remain both innovation and profit leaders. While Janashakthi has consistently won awards at the NBEA, this is their first Gold.
It reflects a clear signal of the company’s journey to the top as one of the strongest, most stable players in the industry, reflecting a strong balance sheet as well as benchmark products and services.
Janashakthi Insurance Managing Director Prakash Schaffter said that this was an accolade that Janashakthi Insurance had worked towards for years. “We have won awards at the NBEA five times prior to this year, but up until now the Gold Award has proved elusive. As such, this accolade is an affirmation of our consistent high profit and dividend returns, coupled with our commitment to customer satisfaction and rigorous people development,” he said.
The NBEA, which was first held in 2004 and organised by the National Chamber of Commerce, aims to provide a framework leading to organisational excellence. It is the pinnacle award ceremony of its kind in the country.
Those who excelled at the awards had to demonstrate excellence across diverse fields; including leadership, corporate governance, capacity building, performance management, local and global market reach, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability and business and financial results.
Entrants to the NBEA had to provide detailed and lengthy written submissions, as well as undergo an intensive assessment process which encompassed the company’s financial health as well as how it contributed to the entire sector.

Janashakthi Insurance PLC has consistently won awards both locally and internationally, having recently picked up a Merit at the National Business Quality ICT Awards (NBQSA), the only insurance company to win at the event.
