The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) in association with the Kurunegala Branch of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is conducting an Investor Day on 20 August 2011 at the Kurunegala Provincial Council Auditorium from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The aim of the Investor Day is to impart knowledge on capital market investments.
The CSE, stockbrokers and unit trust management companies will be participating at the Investor Day and will assist potential investors to open accounts to transact in shares as well as provide guidance on investing in the capital market.
The Investor Day will also feature prominent professionals from the securities industry, who will address the gathering on a wide spectrum of topics ranging from investing in the stock market, unit trusts and the debt market. The lectures will be conducted in an easy to understand manner to enable first time investors to derive the full benefit of the Investor Day.
The previous road shows which were held in Galle and Kandy in association with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) branches were a resounding success with the participation of over 3,000 investors.
The SEC believes that the investing public should have the basic knowledge to invest in the capital market and is therefore committed to impart proper capital market knowledge and awareness to the masses.
