INSEAD, the international business school, today announced the launch of a Master in Finance degree aimed at experienced financial industry professionals seeking to advance their competitive and management skills within the financial sector.
The program will be launched on INSEAD’s Asia campus in Singapore in April of next year.
In commenting on the availability of INSEAD’s specialised Master in Finance degree, the Dean of the school Dipak C. Jain surmised, “The new global financial market presents a complex operating paradigm where old theories are being challenged. The INSEAD Master in Finance degree is designed to provide participants with a rich, integrated experience which brings together knowledge from finance, accounting, leadership, management, strategy and investment banking, to prepare the next generation of financial leaders that will drive future corporate finance and investment management industries.”
The program offers a broad choice of electives such as Risk Management, Macro-Economics and Finance, Decision Sciences and Investment Banking along with Financial Leadership, Management and Communication courses. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of ambitious professionals seeking to pursue a rigorous course of study while working. Classes are offered in five modules – every four months over a 20-month period – at INSEAD’s Singapore and Fontainebleau campuses. This modular structure allows participants to work and study in parallel without demanding excessive time away from work. In addition to on-campus training, there will be significant case work to be completed between modules aimed at applying classroom theory to realistic business practices.
Peter Zemsky, Deputy Dean responsible for Degree Programs and Curriculum at INSEAD stated, “We are continually working and innovating to provide carefully crafted courses of study that equip leaders with the knowledge and skills for an increasingly dynamic business world. The INSEAD Master in Finance degree program adds to our educational portfolio of transformative learning experiences in professional development.”
Applicants to the INSEAD Master in Finance program should possess four to six years of professional experience within the financial sector; strong academic background; demonstrative quantitative skills (evidenced by GMAT or GRE); fluency in English; and outstanding letters of recommendation.
