The inaugural Annual Leasing Symposium organised by the Leasing Association of Sri Lanka (LASL) will be held today from 8.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. at the Cinnamon Grand.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal. Vinod Kothari, an internationally recognised author, trainer and expert on specialized areas in finance and the Executive Director of the Asian Securitization Forum will be present to address the gathering and facilitate this discussion.
Those invited to the proceedings will be senior representatives of member firms, banks, financial institutions and Central Bank of Sri Lanka who are involved and have an interest in the development of a leasing industry in the country.
Main objective of the symposium is to promote the country's leasing sector and to provide an invaluable opportunity for leasing experts to share their expertise and brainstorm on the most vital sector related issues.
An eminent panel including Central Bank Deputy Governor Priyantha Fernando, People's Leasing CEO and General Manager D.P. Kumarage, Central Finance Managing Director Eranjith Wijenaike and Ernst & Young Partner Duminda Hulangamuwa will address the symposium as well.
The technical session will be conducted by Kothari with a strong focus on IFRS affecting the industry and its implications, pricing trends in finance and operating leasing in the region and worldwide among other issues.
