Under the auspices of the International Fiscal Association (Sri Lanka Branch), renowned Attorney-at-Law Dr. Shivaji Felix will deliver the 15th S. Ambalavaner Memorial Lecture on the theme ‘Taxation and the Rule of Law’ at 5:30 p.m. on 27 October at the Conference hall of HNB Towers, No. 479, T. B. Jayah Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The International Fiscal Association (IFA) founded in 1938 in The Hague in the Netherlands is a leading non-governmental organisation devoted to the study of comparative fiscal laws and international taxation. Its worldwide membership in 100 countries exceeds 12,000. IFA draws its membership from among lawyers, accountants, academics, tax officials and taxpayers. The initiative of the late S. Ambalavaner, an eminent lawyer and international tax counsel, the Sri Lanka Branch of IFA was established in 1983. In furtherance of its objectives, IFA (Sri Lanka Branch) conducts regular seminars, lectures, workshops for the dissemination of knowledge of taxation among taxpayers and others.
