HSBC’s Group GM and Regional Head of Commercial Banking in town

HSBC’s Group General Manager/Regional Head of Commercial Banking, Asia Pacific Noel Quinn is in town.

During his three day business visit, Quinn will meet clients from both, public and private sectors – including the Central Bank, engage with HSBC employees, and be updated on performance and strategic plans for the development of the Bank’s successful commercial banking business in Sri Lanka.

Noel has been a part of the HSBC Group since 1987 having started his career with the then Midlands Banks in the UK. Since then he has held a number of important positions and has gained experience across a number of roles across the Bank’s Corporate and Commercial Banking businesses, including Head of Commercial Finance for Europe, Group Director, Strategy and Development for North America Insurance Services and Head of Planning for Commercial Banking in the UK.

Prior to taking up his current position, Quinn served as Group General Manager and Head of Commercial Banking in UK and was instrumental in leading this business through one of the most difficult economic periods in recent history.

Noel qualified as an accountant with Grant Thornton.

He also studied at Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Chicago and the Royal College of Defense Studies in London.
