Positioning itself to better tap the potential of the business boom in Kegalle, HNB has strengthened its presence in the area with the opening of a new branch building with full digital capability.

HNB’s branch building is at a spacious location along the main Kandy road in Kegalle. HNB’s Kegalle branch will offer the full range of banking services as well as digital cheque deposit facilities, real time transactions and digital account opening facilities and will be open for business during weekdays from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

The new branch was ceremonially declared open by HNB’s Assistant General Manager, SME, Jude Fernando, while Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa Province, Maheepala Herath, was the Guest of Honour.

Other dignitaries included Kegalle’s District Secretary Abeywickrama Warnasooriya, Divisional Secretary Nalika Piyasena and HNB’s AGM – Network Management Nirosh Perera and North Central Province Regional Head, Vinodh Fernando.

Speaking at the event, Herath said: “I’ve been a HNB customer since 1992 and I am delighted to see the bank take technological strides while maintaining its legacy and character of stability and transparency in our district.”

HNB first opened its Kegalle branch in 1991 as its 40th branch in Sri Lanka, presently led by Manager Indika Gunawardena.

“With the opening of our new branch in the area we aim to empower the base of SMEs in Kegalle to further strengthen the country’s economy and leverage fully on digital era business leaders,” said Jude Fernando – AGM, SME, HNB.

The newly-opened Kegalle branch, with its digital capability and offerings, can accommodate more customers in its spacious interior. Designed by Architect Suranjan Ranasinghe, the new branch reflects style and features that closely follow the Kandyan style. 1112
