Continuing its victorious trend of the past years, the innovative insurance services provider HNB Assurance added two more outstanding awards to its collection at the 49th Annual Report Awards organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
HNB Assurance’s first ever Integrated Annual Report, themed ‘Power to Dream’, escalated the company to the prestigious top position in the Insurance Industry category with its bagging of the Gold Award for the Best Annual Report in the insurance sector. Beating industry giants to reach the apex within its short life span of 13 years is considered a remarkable achievement in the history of the company.
Moreover, the company also secured its position in the Overall Excellence in Financial Reporting category, winning the Joint Bronze Award, surpassing not only industry peers, but other corporate giants as well. Commenting on this historic achievement, HNB Assurance Managing Director Manjula de Silva stated: “We are extremely honoured to have won this prestigious Gold award for the Best Annual Report in the Insurance sector and also to have been placed as the Bronze Award winner in the overall category.
“This is an exceptional achievement for us, having been in the industry only for thirteen years. We presented an Integrated Annual Report in 2012, because we wanted all our stakeholders to gauge a realistic idea of the value that we create as a responsible corporate citizen. We have always endeavoured to continuously broaden our reporting parameters, and I believe these awards recognize our efforts and motivate us towards further improvement.”

Our award winning Annual Report enables a diverse group of stakeholders to engage in a more rational and informed decision-making process, through the establishment of credibility and transparency.”
