HDFC Bank holds walk to celebrate World Habitat Day

Commemorating the World Habitat day designated by UN – HABITAT a walk was organised by the HDFC Bank yesterday from its head office to Galle Face Green. 

The objective is to develop awareness on this year’s Habitat Day theme “Better City, Better Life” and the importance of protecting the environment among the general public. This was also contributing to the bank’s policy framework of promoting sustainable housing and living and to be actively involved in the Government’s effort of achieving the Millennium Development Goals on Environmental Sustainability. Simultaneously this ensures that every employee of HDFC understands the importance of incorporating environmental consideration in their daily business activities. Here HDFC Bank Chairperson Siromi Wickramasinghe, CEO and General Manager  Suresh Amerasekera, Deputy General Manager S. Dissanayaka, Assistant General Manager D.V. Pathirana, school children and Officers of UN Habitat office in Colombo participate in the walk.
