The Ampara branch of the HDFC Bank was moved to a new location at No. 868, D.S. Senanayake Street, Ampara to provide improved facilities to the bank’s clientele. The relocated branch was ceremonially opened recently.
With the shifting of the branch to a better environment, the bank expects to support the people in the area with easy and convenient access to the banking facilities. At present, the HDFC performs a key role in providing housing loans for the customers whilst maintaining and encouraging a scheme of tailor-made savings and deposits for groups of all ages, gold loan, leasing, micro finance, education loans and SME development loans. Moreover with the palm top mobile banking service HDFC offers the customers the flexibility to carry out their banking transactions at the time most convenient for them and the people in the suburbs of Ampara branch will be able to utilise the modern banking services through this system. Deputy Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Anoma Gamage attended as the Special Guest at the ceremonial opening of the relocated Ampara branch. HDFC Chairman R.J. De Silva, HDFC CEO and General Manager Upali Hettiarachchi, Eastern Provincial Council Chairman Chandradasa Galappaththi, Former Minister P. Dayaratne, AGM (Business Development and Marketing H.S. Gunathilake, HDFC Uva Province Regional Manager R.M. Sugathapala, Ampara Branch Manager Dammika Kumarihamy, staff members and a large number of longstanding customers of HDFC from Ampara area also attended the occasion.
