Etisalat, Ceylinco launch unique mobile insurance

Offering value and innovation to its customers, leading mobile telecommunication innovator Etisalat Lanka in partnership with Ceylinco Life launched three insurance benefits under a single policy to all Etisalat subscribers.

The service includes; total and permanent disability (TPD) due to accidents, accidental death benefit (ADB) and a life insurance cover. The benefits will be offered under one policy for an affordable amount of Rs. 1.50 per day.

Commenting on the landmark initiative, Etisalat Lanka Director/ CEO, Dumindra Ratnayaka said: “At Etisalat, we constantly try to improve the lives of our customers by offering innovative, insightful and affordable services and value additions, even if it means moving outside our comfort zone. Having an insurance policy can help support a family at a time of need or during an emergency but this need is not realised by many until it’s too late. Therefore giving life to our brand promise ‘it’s about you’, we partnered with Ceylinco Life, the leader in life Insurance in Sri Lanka, to offer our customers, not one but three widely needed insurance benefits under one policy, for a very affordable amount.” Ratnayaka added that Etisalat subscribers will be educated by trained staff on how the policy can support them during an emergency and further they will be guided through the process.

To be entitled to this policy, Etisalat subscribers can dial *3355 and simply follow the instructions and activation directions. There are two policy options available for Rs. 1.50 or Rs. 3.00 (inclusive of taxes) per-day. Once the service is activated the subscribers will have the option of selecting daily, monthly or annual payment plans.

The value of the policy covers for subscribers opting for option one (Rs. 1.50 per day) are; ADB Rs. 150,000, TPD Rs. 150,000, Life Rs. 75,000 and for subscribers opting for option two (Rs. 3.00 per day) are ADB Rs. 300,000, TPD Rs. 300,000, Life Rs. 150,000.

Both Etisalat pre-paid and post-paid customers are eligible to subscribe for the insurance policy. Customers are required to produce their national identity card during registration and be between the ages of 18 to 60 years to be eligible for the policy.

When claiming the insurance, Etisalat customers can call the Ceylinco Life call center to activate the process. Once the relevant details and documents are provided to the insurer, the policy will be processed and the payment for the claim will be arranged.
