Dinesh Schaffter has been appointed as the Joint Managing Director of Dunamis Capital PLC with effect from 6 March 2014.
Dinesh was previously an Executive Director and will now work along with Manjula Mathews who is the Managing Director of Dunamis.
Dinesh Schaffter counts over 20 years experience in the Financial Services and Manufacturing sectors. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Kelsey Developments PLC, a subsidiary of Dunamis Capital PLC and as a Director of other Dunamis subsidiaries. Dinesh is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), and holds a Bachelor of Laws – Honours Degree (LLB) from the United Kingdom.
Dunamis also announced the appointment of Saliya Wickramasuriya as a Director on to the Board with effect from 6 March.
Saliya Wickramasuriya is the Director General of the Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat (PRDS), the regulator of Sri Lanka’s new upstream petroleum industry. A physicist by training, Saliya joined the upstream oil and gas industry as a wireline logging engineer for Schlumberger in 1984. After 12 years in the field, he held training, operations management, HRD and marketing positions in different parts of the world. He was appointed Chairman/Director General of the Sri Lanka Board of Investment in 2004, ending a 20 year career with Schlumberger. In April 2006, he was appointed Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, a position he resigned from in Q4 of 2008 to spend time with his family in the UK. During this time he consulted for a number of organisations including Schlumberger and the World Bank, returning to Sri Lanka in October 2011 to take up his current position at PRDS.
Following the changes, the Board of Directors of Dunamis Capital PLC comprises of Manjula Mathews (Managing Director), Dinesh Schaffter (Joint Managing Director), Nihara E. Rodrigo, Eardley I. Perera, Chandana Lal de Silva and Saliya Wickramasuriya.
Major shareholders of Dunamis Capital are Nextventures Ltd., (21.34%), M. Mathews (21.14%), Dinesh Schaffter (16.48%), Janashakthi Ltd. (15%).
