DFCC Vardhana Bank (DVB) has announced it would keep a majority of its main branches open over the weekend, to ease customers’ financial transactions.
This new move was adopted, to enhance the service offered to the bank’s customers, giving them the opportunity to carry out their transactions with ease over the weekend; avoiding the usual week-day rush.
DVB’s branches in Ampara, Bandarawela, Horana, Malabe, Monaragala, Rathnapura, and Sainthamaruthu will be open from 9a.m. to 1p.m., while all other main bank branches will be open on Saturday.
Commenting on this new development, Sri Ramya Hotel Borella Managing Partner Priyantha Kumara, a customer of the Bank said, “DFCC Vardhana’s decision to introduce weekend banking is an extremely good idea. This move makes it easier for us to carry out our financial transactions with ease and comfort over the weekend.”
Another customer of DVB, M. Madhivanan, who is the proprietor of Venus Stores in Nuwara Eliya stated, “Generally, most banks only allow for us to carry out our transactions over the week, which makes everything that much more rushed. Weekend banking is certainly a welcome move, and I applaud DVB for taking this decision, and for always placing its customer’s needs first.”
Weekend banking comes with absolutely no restrictions, allowing for DVB’s customers to engage in all types of banking transactions.
“There is only so much that one can do over the week. The introduction of weekend banking at DVB helps businessmen like us, to reserve the weekend for carrying out our banking transactions,” said UKG Mahagedara Pvt Ltd, Galle Managing Director U.K Sampath Ranasinghe, also another customer who banks with DVB.
DVB’s customers at all of the bank’s 127 branches and service centres have access to a full range of commercial and personal banking services, including current accounts, savings accounts, children’s saving accounts, fixed deposits, foreign currency accounts, pawning facility, loans schemes and trade related finances.
