DFCC Bank, the pioneer development bank in the country, and its commercial arm, DFCC Vardhana Bank (DVB), opened a new branch in Vavuniya recently.
The new branch was opened by Lakshman Silva, CEO, DFCC Vardhana Bank and H.A. Ariyarathne, Executive Vice President, DFCC Bank and few more top officials of the DFCC and Vardhana Banks.
The guests of honour were Additional Government Agent Thirugnanasampanthar, Chairman Urban Council of Vavuniya Nathan and Trade Association President P.S. Abdullah.
Commenting at the opening, Silva said, “Opening this new branch in Vavuniya is just one phase of our plan to be quite active in the north and east. The potential in the area is vast, and we intend to do whatever we can, within our capacity, to accelerate growth and develop the north and east of the country.”
The new common branch in Vavuniya is DFCC Bank’s 19th branch and offers project financing and advisory for entrepreneurs and business and is DFCC Vardhana Bank’s 124th branch, offering a wide range of services, from personal financial services to attractive loan schemes and all other commercial banking products and services.
DFCC and DFCC Vardhana Banks are already fairly well represented in the North and East, with common branches set up in Jaffna, Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee; and Vardhana Bank’s branch-service centres in Akkaraipattu and Kalmunai, Mahawewa and Uhana, while the two Banks have a further expansion plan in the North and East areas.
