HNB Assurance has declared October as the month of ‘Learning and Development’ as a part of 2012 strategic Human Resource Development initiative of the company with the theme named ‘Sustainable Growth through Continuous Learning’.
During the month of “Learning and Development” company has scheduled various key events and programs in order to develop their people through Continuous Learning and Development.
A Career Guidance Day will be held which envisions guiding employees in terms of their professional development, intellectual and career growth and its captures all levels of employees at HNB Assurance and from all parts of the country. Guest lectures are also been scheduled in various fields of studies and the creation of a Generation Y Talent Pool in the company will also take place this October.
In accordance with this theme, ‘Sustainable Growth through Continuous Learning,’ the company has conducted a variety of learning and development programs over the past months focusing target groups such as the management team, distribution managers, middle managers/executive team, bancassurance channel members of HNB Assurance.
All these programs have been set with the intention of improving the employment pool of the company and serving the individual employees’ needs for knowledge improvement and development.
HNB Assurance has developed a comprehensive training module titled ‘Licensed to Lead’ for the Management Team. Another key program was the Out Bound Training program which was conducted recently for the middle management team of the company.
The company also identified the necessity to have specialised training and development activities for the employees attached to the emerging Bancassurance channel. A comprehensive training plan was designed under the title ‘HNBA Dream Team’ with the notion of making the impossible possible through the enhancement of knowledge and skills.
The company also has its own Learning Academy that conducts courses on insurance for the benefit of all employees. This General & Life Insurance Academy is commonly known as GALIA among the employees of HNB Assurance.
A series of underwriting and systems training sessions were also conducted at Zonal and Regional offices. All employees were given thorough training which was conducted by an in-house pool of trainers comprising of the senior managers of the company. The training faculty includes trainers from the pool of internal trainers, external facilitators and trainers including foreign/international trainers.
Further to the training activities, an Inter Branch/Department Quiz competition was also held with the participation of employees from branches and the Head Office.
