Commercial Bank Managing Director Jegan Durairatnam (fourth from left) enrols a customer through the tab-based app at the Wellawatte branch in the presence of senior management of the bank
Commercial Bank has commenced a week-long push at nine key branches to promote the use of the bank’s digital banking platforms such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, e-Passbook and Automated Banking.
The bank’s ‘Digital Banking Week’ commenced on 12 June at the Wellawatte, Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya, Dehiwala, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Katubedda, Katubedda Minicom and Moratuwa branches.
The bank has set up promotional units at these branches to help customers experience digital banking options and to register for them. During this week staff members will enrol existing customers for these facilities through a special tab-based app by entering their details. This process will ensure convenience for customers since they will not be required to fill separate forms for the new services. Similar promotions are to be conducted at over 40 branches of the bank in the near future.
The bank said it offered free activation of its digital banking services to customers on the condition that they would be used for at least one financial transaction within the first three months. The first 10 customers that enrolled for digital banking during the week were also presented with power banks for their mobile phones.
