Colombo to host Nexia International Asia Pacific Conference in July

The 23rd annual Nexia International Asia Pacific Conference will take place in Colombo on 6 and 7 July under the theme ‘Strategies to prepare for the development in the Market’.

Chief Guest and Key Note Speaker at the opening ceremony on 6 July will be given by Central Bank Governor and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka Past President Ajith Nivard Cabraal. He will speak on ‘Economy and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’.

Over a hundred delegates from nearly 15 countries such as Australia, China, Tahiti, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, the UK and USA will take part in this two-day conference. Nexia International is represented in Sri Lanka by B.R. de Silva and Co Chartered Accountants.

“We are delighted to play host to these two forthcoming conferences. They bring together nearly 100 of our members from different parts of the world and will facilitate healthy networking. At the same time, we will be able to showcase Sri Lanka not only as a destination for conferences of this nature but also the vibrant potential we have for BPO facilities,” said B.R. Parallel to the main conference will be the Nexia Asia Pacific Young Leaders Conference 2012. This two-day conference will focus on learning and practicing ways to grow one’s management and leadership skills. It includes processes for developing better relationship management techniques with colleagues within one’s practice as well as with one’s clients.

B.R. De Silva and Co., Chartered Accountants, was founded by late B.R. de Silva FCA. He was articled with E.C. Brown and Batts in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant during the war.
