The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) concluded a highly successful seminar presentation on Sri Lankan tax systems and implementation for 2012, in affiliation with the Department of Inland Revenue, at the Mahaweli Centre, Colombo recently.
The Chief Guest was the new Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Mallika Samarasekara and the Special Guest was CNCI Chairman Preethi Jayawardena.
Several Deputy Commissioners of the Department in charge of VAT, SVAT, Personal, Corporate, Investment Tax, NBT, ESC and SME sector and the Tax Payer Services Division were among the presenters.
A large gathering of officials and representatives representing the industrial, manufacturing, services, financial and commercial enterprises participated at the presentation.
The participants were given an understanding of the technical aspects related to various subjects and also they were highly attracted to the amazing services, benefits, large concessions from leading banks, heavy discounts from holiday destinations, special VIP passports and valuable free car permits, etc., available to the consistent honourable tax payers in Sri Lanka.
CNCI Secretary General/CEO Kumara Kandalama stated that the objective of the CNCI was to establish a friendly rapport and a better understanding among the tax payers and the Department of Inland Revenue and also to provide vital knowledge about the various tax obligations by the public towards the Department of Inland Revenue for the betterment of all concerned.
