Seven more members of the staff of Ceylinco Life have achieved Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Insurance of UK (ACII), Sri Lanka’s largest life insurer has announced. The ACII qualification is awarded to members holding the Advanced Diploma in Insurance offered by the institute and is one step below the FCII awarded to members holding the CII Fellowship, the highest qualification awarded by the Institute. Ceylinco Life now employs 12 ACII qualified insurance professionals, the highest number among all life insurance companies operating in Sri Lanka. All of them have received the institute’s ‘Chartered Insurer’ designation, as each has well over the required five years of industry experience. “Ceylinco Life actively encourages its employees to seek the highest professional qualifications because we believe that professionalism is one of the cornerstones of our business,” the company’s Managing Director/CEO R. Renganathan said. “This leads to a commitment to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices that make a tangible difference to our customers.” Ceylinco Life’s 12 chartered insurers have cumulative industry experience of 257 years, and 188 cumulative years at Ceylinco Insurance, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in January this year. The Chartered Insurance Institute of UK is the world’s most recognised professional body that promotes professional education in insurance. Its associate membership and chartered insurer titles are acclaimed globally among insurance professionals. The Insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL) also recognises the value of this qualification and has made employing ACII qualified staff a prerequisite for obtaining a license to operate an insurance company. Ceylinco Life’s 12 ACII qualified chartered insurers are Ashoka Sirisena, Joe Karunarathna, Saman Kumara, Lucksiri Fonseka, Palinda Karunaratne, Nilanka Karunanayaka, Sudath Sriyananda, Kamal Rupasiri, Surath Chandima, Udara Rangana,  Uditha Premarathna  and Uditha Liyanage.
