Ceylinco Life’s Gampaha branch relocates to new company-owned building

History was revisited when Ceylinco Life ceremonially declared open its new three-storey branch in Gampaha, in a custom-built building owned by the company.

The showpiece edifice built on 34.5 perches of land, will be the new home of Ceylinco Life’s first-ever branch office, opened in Gampaha in 1988, the year the company commenced operations.

Ceylinco Life owns 35 blocks of land island-wide out of which 22 have been built on. Currently, 13 of these buildings house the company’s branches.

Speaking at the opening of the building on Thursday, 1 November, Ceylinco Life’s Managing Director and CEO R. Renganathan said: “The construction of this building is part of the investment strategy of Ceylinco Life.  Our policyholders entrust their premiums to us and it is our duty to ensure that these funds are invested in gilt edged securities so that they will be available when required to pay claims or maturity benefits.  We have done this successfully over many years.”

Comprising of 8,975 square feet of space, of which the entire ground floor of 2,980 square feet is designated as the Customer Service area, the fully air-conditioned new office accommodates a team of 88, of which 83 belong to the sales force. The first and second floors comprising of 5,995 square feet comprises of offices, an auditorium and staff facilities. The building is equipped with its own stand by generator.

The new office significantly strengthens the existing network of Ceylinco Life in the Gampaha region, the company said. Ceylinco Life currently operates two branches in the Gampaha town, both of which are now in company-owned buildings and also has branches in Yakkala, Minuwangoda and Divulapitiya.

All Ceylinco Life branches are fully IT enabled and are computer-linked to each other and the company’s head office using IP/VPN technology, providing policyholders with access to information on their policies from any branch.
