A view of Colombo’s skyline from the Indian Ocean, a scenic sunset from the deck of a ship and a sumptuous dinner at sea were among the memories some 600 people from all over Sri Lanka took back with them, after they were recently treated to ‘Jetliner’ cruises by Ceylinco Life.
Two cruises, each accommodating 75 lucky Ceylinco Life policyholders and their families, were organised by the life insurance market leader as the second phase of its annual ‘Family Savari’ programme, conducted for the fourth successive year. The first phase was a holiday in Singapore for 50 policyholders and their families.
People from Jaffna, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Kandy, Ampara, Kegalle, Akkaraipattu, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa were among those who participated in these short cruises which included musical entertainment and magic shows. For most of them, it was their first experience of an ocean cruise.
Ceylinco Life also made arrangements to provide transport and one night’s accommodation to those who came from distant areas to join the cruises.
Ceylinco Life Managing Director and CEO R. Renganathan said that the Family Savari programme allows people from different parts of Sri Lanka to unite and participate in many exciting activities and pointed out that the company has taken 600 people to Singapore and more than 8,000 to the Leisure World theme park over the past three years.
In the third phase of this year’s Family Savari, Ceylinco Life will treat 2000 more people from 500 policyholder families to a day’s outing at the Leisure World theme park in Avissawella on 29 April, 2011.
This annual promotion is intended to generate greater awareness of and interest in life insurance in market segments as yet unprotected through insurance, reward existing policyholders for keeping their policies active and to provide an incentive to others to revive and maintain their policies.
