A new level of convenience has been offered to policyholders of Ceylinco Life to pay their insurance premiums, following the deployment by the life insurance leader of mobile Point-of-Sale (mPOS) devices via sales personnel in the field.

As a result, Ceylinco Life policyholders can now pay their premiums by credit or debit card anywhere and at any time they meet a member of the company’s sales team.

The mPOS solution, supplied by Global Payments Asia Pacific Lanka Ltd. connects to Android or iOS powered smartphones or tablet PCs, enabling policyholders’ cards to be swiped for payments. The devices have multi-level security measures designed to protect customer data.

The mPOS solution generates instant e-receipts and SMS confirmations of payments, enabling the entire transaction to be concluded in minutes.

“Enhancing convenience through investments in technology and processes receives constant attention at Ceylinco Life,” said the company’s Director/Deputy Chief Executive Officer Thushara Ranasinghe. “The pace of life continues to increase, and many of our policyholders are hard pressed for time to visit a branch to make their payments. The mPOS facility is not simply more convenient, it is safer too, as it eliminates the need to carry cash at both ends – the customer and the company representative.”

For Ceylinco Life, this service makes monitoring of transactions easier and reduces the handling of cash, he said. It also widens the geographical reach of its collections beyond the 250 plus branches the company operates across the country.

Ceylinco Life also offers policyholders the option of making premium payments from their Dialog mobile phones via the ‘eZ cash’ mCommerce program, via the Mcash Mobitel network, via the company’s website www.ceylincolife.com, or by bank and Credit Card standing orders. Additionally, the company has achieved a new dimension in speed, accuracy and convenience through a PDA-based mobile insurance sales office called ‘e-assist’ that has revolutionised the way insurance sales people work.

The market leader in Sri Lanka’s life insurance sector since 2004, Ceylinco Life has close to a million lives covered by life policies. The company is acknowledged as the benchmark for innovation in the local insurance industry for its work in product research and development, customer service, professional development and corporate social responsibility. Ceylinco Life was adjudged the Best Life Insurer in Sri Lanka by World Finance for the second successive year in 2015.
