The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) in its continuing efforts to edify the country’s ambitious professionals on a range of topical subjects will launch the Certificate Course in Advanced Taxation next month.
With the primary objective of upgrading the taxation knowledge of professionals, this Continuous Professional Development (CPD) accredited four and a half month long course, will commence on 3 September at the Institute, located at Colombo 7.
Targeted at company directors, secretaries, assessors, tax lawyers, members of professional accounting bodies and members of the public who are interested in the subject, this will be the 23rd intake in the certificate course series.
The course scheduled to be held on Saturdays, will cover a range of taxation related areas including; computation of income from trade business etc., employment income, capital gains, statutory income, assessable income, taxable income, liability of companies, exemptions VAT, withholding tax, PAYE, appeals etc., tax statute and case law. Registrations for the certificate course will be on a first come first served basis and will close on 1 September 2011.
