Filling out deposit slips at counters for leasing payments is a thing of the past as Sri Lanka’s leading finance company, Central Finance Company PLC, has linked up with the pioneering mobile money service, eZ Cash, to collect lease rental payments via mobile wallets accessible to its 14 million-strong customer base via Dialog, Etisalat and Hutch mobile networks.
Under the agreement, all Central Finance customers can make their respective rental payments anytime, anywhere from their Dialog, Etisalat and Hutch mobile phones, by simply following the simple USSD menu on the eZ Cash wallet. Once the payment is made, eZ Cash will forward an SMS receipt confirming the payment to the lease holder in a seamless transaction between Central Finance, eZ Cash and the mobile service provider. Non-account holders can also make payments via authorised eZ Cash merchant’s located island wide.
In June 2012, eZ Cash became Sri Lanka’s first mobile money service that permitted sending and receiving money under the aegis of the Payments and Settlements Act No 28 of 2005.
A registered eZ Cash subscriber can load money in to his/her mobile phone at any one of the 20,000 plus eZ Cash points/merchants across Sri Lanka. Loading money would also be made possible at bank branches and internet and phone banking services of Sri Lanka’s leading banking institutions.
