Bourse opens on a mixed note

The Colombo Bourse opened a new week on a mixed note with mixed sentiments shown around in many counters. Benchmark ASPI closed marginally higher by 7.48 points or 0.13% to end at 5,862.82 while S&P SL 20 Index closed marginally lower by 2.14 points or 0.07% to end at 3,230.36. Lanka Securities said market turnover was Rs. 197mn, the lowest in almost four months. John Keells Holdings made the highest contribution of Rs. 19mn to the daily turnover closely followed by Asiri Hospitals (Rs. 17mn) and Tokyo Cement (Rs. 14mn). Foreign participation for the day was 23% whilst recording a net inflow of Rs. 5 million. Net inflows were seen in Aitken Spence, HNB and Lanka Hospitals.
