Bank of Ceylon wins IBSL Inter-bank Quiz Competition

Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) recently concluded its annual inter-bank Quiz Competition successfully for the fourth consecutive year at the College of Banking and Finance (COBAF), the training wing of the IBSL.

The Chief Guest of the final event was S.H.A.M Abeyratne, the Director General of the IBSL.

This year, 10 teams from eight banks (two state owned commercial banks, one state owned savings bank and five private owned commercial banks) were competing for the IBSL trophy.

Out of eight banks, six were regular participants and one local private owned commercial bank and one international commercial bank entered into the competition for the first time.

The programme consisted of a preliminary round with five separate competitions among 10 teams, the semi final with five participant banks and the final between the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) and the Commercial Bank of Ceylon Plc.

The champion of the competition (Bank of Ceylon) was represented by Lankika, Pramod, Malintha and Apeksha and the runners-up (Commercial Bank) team was represented by Asith, Navoda, Manoj and Kamalesh.

Apeksha from the BOC scored the highest individual marks throughout the competition and became the Best Participant for 2011.

The programme was organised by the COBAF staff and the Quiz Master was Sudam C. Kaluarachchi, Director of the College of Banking and Finance of the IBSL.
