Bank of Ceylon launches on-line EPF payments service

Taking a further step to facilitate the corporate clients in settling their EPF payments, Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) and Bank of Ceylon (BOC) signed an Agreement to provide “BOC on-line Payment Facility” at Central Bank of Sri Lanka recently.

BOC & CBSL have developed this system, in order to facilitate employers to make their monthly EPF payments and to send the member details electronically.

Accordingly, employers can make their EPF payments from their office even till last day, without posting or handing over the cheque or money order payments to CBSL, in advance.   Also they can upload the member details to the system even on the last date of payment, and there is no need to handle any paper work.

Participating at the signing ceremony, B.D.W.A. Silva, Deputy Governor of Central Bank said that “CBSL is indeed happy to join hands with BOC and popularize an electronic mode of payment among the employers who are contributing EPF on behalf of their employees and invited them to make use of the On-line Payment Facility, provided by BOC and experience a simple, paperless, secured and hassle-free way of making EPF payments and submission of member details.”

BOC now provides a range of e-banking facilities to corporate clients who can handle all their payments such as customs duty, Ports Authority payments, ETF and EPF payments at one point.   This one stop shop combination is not only highly convenient to all employers but also would help them to improve their operational efficiency.

BOC on-line payment facility is a highly secured and user friendly system.

The Agreement was signed by Mrs. Kalyanee Gunathilake, Superintendent of Employees’ Provident Fund Department, CBSL and Mrs. Dayani Fernando, Deputy General Manager (Corporate & Offshore Banking), BOC.   The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. B.D.W.A. Silva, Deputy Governor of CBSL , Mrs. Rupa Dheerasinghe, Assistant Governor, CBSL, Mrs. Deepa Seneviratne, Additional Superintendent EPF, Mrs. Mala Dayarathne, Director Information Technology, CBSL together with D.P.K. Gunasekara, Assistant General Manager(Corporate Relations) D.M.L.B. Dassanayake Assistant General Manager(Corporate Credit) Mr. Lakshman Perera, Assistant Director, Information Technology (Application Systems) of BOC and respective officials of CBSL and BOC.
