Bank of Ceylon, the bankers to the nation, launched “Night Banking Service” to further augment its service delivery through extended banking hours. The facility was ceremoniously declared open by its Chairman Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe at BOC Wellawatte branch on Friday 4th January 2013.
Conveniently located in the heart of the town, BOC Wellawatte branch will provide “Night Banking Service” targeting the business community, employees of private and Government sector who would like to conduct banking activities on their way home and people commuting from Colombo to Jaffna.
“The launch of this Night Banking Service falls in line with Bank of Ceylon’s mandate of being bankers to the nation and renews its commitment to providing utmost convenience to its customers,” stated Dr. Wickramasinghe. This move is an instance of the bank’s response to evolving customer needs and its commitment to constantly exceed customer expectations”. Dr. Wickramasinghe further mentioned that the service offers relevance for working individuals as it will remain open even when they travel back home in the evenings. “It offers security that businessmen seek, in depositing cash at the end of each day and assists them in planning their trading and operations well in advance for the following day”.
BOC’s Night Banking Service, offers an enhanced standard of customer service, that is easily accessible. Wellawatte branch is opened daily, from 08:30a.m., to 9.00p.m., to enable deposits of cash and cheques, as well as withdrawals and inward remittances There is an ample parking space for the customers. Progressively, the bank will extend its Night Banking concept to other key cities in a mission to enrich its customer relationship and reinforce its stance as a beacon of national advancement and growth.
This new service will supplement BOC’s existing services portfolio and customer touchpoints, with its main office offering a 24-hour banking service that is available 365 days of the year, together with 601 branches and extension offices, the highest in its category; 451 ATM’s, 861 foreign correspondent agents, 10 SME dedicated centres, mobile phone banking services, internet banking services, SMS banking services and Premier Banking Centre. As deposits and withdrawals are essential day-to-day activities by customers, the novel Night Banking Service will be especially beneficial for holders of savings accounts such as Ran Kekulu, 14+, 18+, Kantha Ran Ginum, BOC Savings, NRFC and Senior Citizen accounts. This service will cater appropriately to current account holders and beneficiaries of inward remittances as well.
