AVIVA NDB fetes outstanding Wealth Planners at Graduation and Sales Convention

Celebrating the exemplary achievements of AVIVA NDB Wealth Planners, the best performers of 2011 were recognized at the Company’s Graduation and Sales Convention held recently.  

The two events were combined for the second year in succession. At the Graduation ceremony, qualifying Wealth Planners and Wealth Planners’ Managers were bestowed with titles under several categories of merit creating a vital milestone in their career progression.  The status achieved was based on a stringent appraisal process across several key performance criteria.

Accordingly, 650 Wealth Planners and Wealth Planners’ Managers were bestowed with the titles, - Premier, Privileged and Senior at the graduation ceremony. The competencies and skills of Wealth Planners are consistently honed through world-class training, strengthened by Aviva’s global best practices and extensive product knowledge at the Company’s in-house training facility – “Centre for Excellence.”

The afternoon’s Graduation Ceremony was followed by the annually held Sales Convention for the Wealth Planners in the evening.  Top achievers were recognized for superlative achievements and presented with awards amidst fanfare and applause at the gala event. Mrs D.G.A. Swarna from Anuradhapura Region, was adjudged Best Wealth Planner – Life, for the fourth consecutive year. Her other outstanding achievements also deserved recognition. She has attained the commendable position of ‘Top of the table’ at the Million Dollar Round Table conference.  MDRT is the highest international recognition that an insurance sales person can achieve. She has also qualified for the globally recognized International Quality Award (IQA) from LIMRA, USA. IQA was established to promote quality selling in the Life insurance profession across the world. To qualify for the award, insurance sales persons are required to achieve outstanding persistency that demonstrates customer loyalty and satisfaction.

D.C.Pushpakumara from Kalutara Agency Office 2 received the award for the Best Wealth Planners’ Manager – Life. Under General insurance, the winners were Shivantha Kulathunga from the Colombo Region who became Best Wealth Planner – GI while Upali Tennakoon from the Kurunegala Region emerged Best Wealth Planners’ Manager – GI for the second consecutive year.  The winner of the next coveted title - Best Distribution Unit Head - was Selvarajan Kandasamy from Jaffna Region – a significant achievement for the post-war region.

For the first time since the opening of Area Development Offices, the Best ADO Manager was presented with an award.  G.H.C. Dileepa Ameendra from Tissamaharamaya became the very first ADO Head to receive the award.  Area Development Offices were introduced on franchise basis from 2011 to encourage entrepreneurship among Wealth Planners.

AVIVA NDB Deputy Managing Director Upul Wijesinghe said: “This year we are proud to announce that once again we have Sri Lanka’s highest number of MDRT qualifiers numbering 50 and also the highest number of IQA qualifiers from Sri Lanka, numbering 53.  This clearly shows the calibre of our Wealth Planners and their commendable quality of service that is on par with the world’s best.”

An important highlight of the evening was the presentation of the AVIVA NDB Award of Excellence to Professor J. B. Disanayaka, the leading authority in the Sinhala language who has written several books on linguistics, culture and history.  The Company felicitates an eminent person at the annual Sales Convention to inspire and encourage the Wealth Planners to excel.
