The Banking with the Poor Network yesterday convened a two-day meeting in Colombo of representatives from 10 national microfinance associations from across Asia for discussions focused on improving their collective ability to strengthen the microfinance industries in their respective countries.
Asia Network Summit 2010 is convened by BWTP, organised by FDC, in partnership with the SEEP Network, ADA Luxembourg and Citi Foundation.
This is the third annual Asia Network Summit after Hanoi in 2008 and Singapore in 2009.
The Asia Network Summit participants will cover a range of topics including advocacy, consumer protection, triple-bottom-line reporting, network cooperation, and network operational tools. National microfinance networks are represented from the following countries: Sri Lanka, China, Laos, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Nepal, and Indonesia.
