Asia Capital profits up 476% to Rs. 1. 29 b

Asia Capital Plc has announced a Rs. 1. 29 billion profit for the first nine months of the 2011/12 financial year, a 476% increase from the corresponding period of 2010/11.

This was led chiefly by a 266% increase in revenue from Rs. 238.3 million as at 31 December, 2010 to Rs. 872.6 million as at 31 December, 2011.

In other key performance indicators the gross profit of the company as at 31 December, 2011 was Rs. 852.1 million from Rs. 150 million in December 2010. Other operating income too recorded a significant increase to Rs. 733.4 million from Rs. 189.9 million at end December 2010.

The basic earnings per share of the Group was Rs. 11.76 as at December 31, 2011 up from Rs. 2.04 in December 2010. This year a dividend per share of Rs. 6.95 was also declared.
