H.M. Hennayke Bandara, Vice President of Association of Professional Bankers - Sri Lanka said yesterday that APB is hosting its first-ever budget forum ‘Budget Proposals 2011 – Impact on Banks’ on Tuesday, 23 November 2010, from 5:30 p.m. onwards at HNB Towers, Colombo 10.
N.R. Gajendran, the eminent speaker and well-known tax consultant will be the Keynote Speaker and R. Theagarajah, MD/CEO of Hatton National Bank and Dimantha Seneviratne, CRO of HSBC will be the Panellists.
This is the first budget presented after the restoration of peace and stability in the country and it is anticipated to be more development-oriented by all alike. As banks play a catalytic role in development of the country, bankers anticipate the tax policy on banks to be more favourable which will lead to the growth of the industry, further added Bandara, who is also the General Manager/CEO of National Savings Bank.
This forum will be open to all who are interested in fiscal proposals for 2011. Entrance is free for APB members, IBSL students as well as bankers and others can attend the forum at a nominal fee of Rs. 300.
