Amana Takaful recently revamped its operations in Kalmunai in the East by relocating its office to a more spacious and modern office situated at to No. 32, Mallika Building, Main Street Kalmunai. The branch was ceremoniously declared open by Amana Takaful CEO Fazal Ghaffoor.
Amana Takaful has created a strong presence in the East having gained strong acceptance of the Takaful way of insurance in the region. “Strengthening our presence in the region we recently opened a new branch in Trincomalee and a Regional Office in Batticaloa in view of creating autonomy and better service levels,” said Business Amana Takaful Development Manager, East Region, Abdul Careem, speaking at the opening ceremony attended by prominent businessmen, professionals and members of the financial services fraternity.
Amana Takaful has been in operation in Kalmunai since the year 2005 and has established a strong position recording a growth in both General and Life insurance business as in the last year. “I would like to make this an opportunity to thank the people of Kalmunai for the encouragement and support they have rendered to us in the past enabling us to reach great heights,” said Kalmunai Branch Manager Shibly at the opening ceremony.
Amana Takaful has been successful in carving out a strong market for itself in both Life and General Insurance during its operations for the past 13 years. The company is listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange and is among one of the few ISO certified Takaful insurance companies in Sri Lanka. Its portfolio of products and services have gained wider acceptance within Sri Lanka and this was further strengthened with the launch of new products for Life Insurance namely Adhyapana, Surakshitha and Platinum. Moving forward the company has also given zest to its Non-Motor portfolio making a one stop shop for all insurance needs.
The company serves insurance needs across the country covering the East, South, Western, North Western, North Eastern and Central Hills. In the Maldives, Amana Takaful operates a fully-fledged licensed company listed on the Maldives Stock Exchange. The company is a Board Member of the Global Takaful Group, which is an international Think-tank for the development of Takaful globally. They also hold membership of International Co-operative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) of which they hold the chairmanship of the Micro-Takaful Steering Group.
