Sri Lankan IR professionals now have access to the IR Society’s International Certificate in Investor Relations (ICIR).
The ICIR is an internationally recognised qualification for the investor relations profession. It is a comprehensive test of competency in IR, providing the tools to help candidates develop their careers in the profession. The certificate will help to develop a best practice framework in IR for Sri Lankan listed companies
IR Society CEO Laura Hayter said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with the Colombo Stock Exchange to offer our certificate. Running for over 12 years, the CIR has become a benchmark in the industry, widely recognised in the UK and in other international markets, and we are excited to add the Colombo Stock Exchange to our international partner collaborations.”
Commenting on the partnership, CSE Chief Executive Officer Rajeeva Bandaranaike said: “The Certificate in IR (CIR) qualification has established itself as a standard in the business, with widespread acceptance in the United Kingdom and other foreign markets. Therefore, we are pleased to offer this qualification to Sri Lankan corporate professionals in partnership with the IR Society, UK. The CSE is dedicated to providing a deeper understanding of Investor Relations in the Sri Lankan capital market and offering shareholder value. We anticipate an engaging and mutually beneficial relationship with the IR Society, UK.”
Interested professionals are invited to join the program, which comprises a self-study course and an examination. The topics covered include Financial Markets; Corporate Entities and Governance; Market Conduct; Reporting; Accounting Valuation and Investment Principles; and Effective IR in Practice.
