The MDRT membership is the highest form of international recognition bestowed upon insurance advisors in the world since its launch in 1927 in the USA. Softlogic Life that touched Gross Written Premiums of Rs. 10 billion in 2018, the fastest Life Insurer to achieve that milestone is now host to Sri Lanka’s second highest number of MDRT members within just two years since the start of their work on this project of recognising and grooming members of its organisation for MDRT membership. This is a true testament to how dedicated and keen the organisation is in driving only excellence in their workforce and therefore their services. The Aspirant’s Club, in turn, was set up to groom potential MDRT members through a series of periodical workshops and conferences.
In 2017, while only 65 members were selected and flown to the United States of America for their membership initiation, in 2018, Softlogic Life was able to produce to 87 advisors qualified for the membership of the Million Dollar Round Table. Of the 87 qualifiers, six Softlogic Life advisors have received the prestigious COT (Court of Table) membership, while one advisor received the highest MDRT honour of being a TOT (Top of Table) member for the 2nd consecutive year.
Speaking on the growing success of the project, Softlogic Life’s Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed said: “At Softlogic Life, we invest heavily and constantly in the professional development of our insurance advisors. We believe that a knowledgeable, driven and disciplined workforce is the core of service excellence. The launch of the MDRT Aspirants club is a testament to the importance we give to quality service and of our organisation’s aspirations as a whole to constantly push the bar forward towards surpassing international standards.”
Commenting on the same, Executive Director Chula Hettiarachchi said, “This achievement is a significant milestone for Softlogic Life which goes to show the level of commitment and professionalism of our sales team. The MDRT Aspirants club was set up primarily to groom and equip potential MDRT winners through a series of workshops and programs set up regularly throughout the year. Becoming host to the second highest number of MDRT members in the country in just two years of starting this project clearly shows how serious we are about it. Our organisation has always valued individual growth of each of our team members. It is the only way to move forward as a company and we have always strongly believed in this philosophy.”
