Sampath Bank recently entered into an agreement with Kyodai Remittance, one of the largest fund transfer companies in Japan to provide remittance services for Sri Lankans working in Japan who wish to send money to their locally domiciled families.
Kyodai Remittance offers a safe and secure method of sending funds overseas from Japan and also provides this service at an affordable cost. They offer a cash pickup remittance service for approximately 150 countries and regions as well as a service for remittances to bank accounts in several countries around the world.
“We at Kyodai Remittance have always prided ourselves on being the bridge between families separated for work. We make a conscious effort every day to help those who come to Japan to work their hardest for the happiness of their families in their homelands. We have always had a good relationship with Sampath Bank and we are happy and privileged to partner with them to offer Sri Lankans working in Japan a quick and convenient way of sending money back home to their loved ones,” said Kyodai Remittance President and CEO Yuichiro Kimoto.
The company had been one of Sampath Bank’s priority partners, through an agreement entered into last year, which has now been formalised to have them on board as a direct partner. Thanks to this agreement, any Sri Lankan working in Japan who wishes to send money home can do so via Kyodai Remittance and their families can collect the funds directly from any of Sampath Bank’s 229 branches islandwide.
“As a national Bank, we, at Sampath Bank, are cognisant of the economic significance of remittances sent in by the innumerable Sri Lankans working around the world. We have always sought to extend our fullest support through our extensive suite of financial solutions. This partnership with Kyodai Remittance is part of our commitment to serving them. Working together, we are delighted to offer them a convenient and reliable means of sending money back home and thereby contribute to the wellbeing of their families and the nation as a whole,” stated Sampath Bank PLC Managing Director Nanda Fernando.
“Entering into this agreement with Kyodai Remittance is the culmination of an identified customer need and a conscious desire by us to partner with a successful and stable remittance agent in whom we have complete trust and confidence. We find Kyodai Remittance to be a powerhouse in its home country of Japan and an organisation with a strong moral code, which are attributes that closely mirror our own. With these synergies coming together, we have no doubt that this partnership will benefit all Sri Lankans working in Japan,” concluded Sampath Bank PLC Assistant General Manager – Inward Remittance/KPO/BNO Rajendra Ranasinghe.
