Rusiru Abeyasinghe appointed as NAMAL CEO

National Asset Management Ltd. (NAMAL) Chairman Alexis Lovell has announced the appointment of Rusiru Abeyasinghe as the Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective from 15 August. 

NAMAL is the pioneer Unit Trust management company in Sri Lanka established in 1991 with 27 years of experience and a successful track record of investing in equity and fixed income markets. NAMAL is a subsidiary of Union Bank of Colombo PLC and the other shareholders include DFCC Bank PLC and Ennid Capital Ltd. 

Possessing experience across multiple asset classes, Abeyasinghe brings with him a substantial track record of achievement. An industry veteran of 11 years, Abeyasinghe joins the firm from DPMC Assetline Holdings Ltd. (DPAH), where he served as Chief Operations Officer. DPMC Assetline Holdings is a member of the David Peiris Group and a wholly owned subsidiary of DP Holdings Ltd. Prior to DPAH, Abeyasinghe served as the Head of Investments at Phoenix Ventures Ltd. (PVL), which is the parent company of Brandix Lanka Ltd. and Phoenix Industries Ltd. At PVL Abeyasinghe managed a diverse portfolio of assets consisting of listed equity, fixed income, private equity and real estate. He also served as a nominee Director of PVL at Saffron Aviation Ltd., the operator of Cinnamon Air. Abeyasinghe holds an MBA from the Cardiff Metropolitan University and is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
