People’s Bank triumphant at Interbank Quiz 2019

People’s Bank – Team B , Captain Pulasthi Gunasekara being awarded the 2nd runner up trophy

The 27th Annual Interbank Quiz Competition organised by the Clearing Association of Bankers (CAB) was held recently at the Balmoral Hall of the Kingsbury in Colombo.

People’s Bank – Team C emerged victorious after a gap of more than a decade, outsmarting 29 teams representing several commercial, development and savings banks in the country. Meanwhile, People’s Bank – Team B was placed third respectively.

The winning team from People’s Bank (Team C) was represented by Thushari Hewawasam –Regional Manager Colombo Outer, Sujeewa Gunaratne – Chief Manager Supplies, Pasan Gunaratne – Manager Salaries Dept., Mahesh Bandara – Asst. Manager Regional Office Nuwara Eliya and Sandamalika Ruberu – Staff Assistant Trade Services.

People’s Bank, 2nd Runner-up team (Team B) was comprised of Pulasthi Gunasekara – Manager Banking Operations Department, Malaka Wasala – Manager Digitalisation Dept., Charith Malalasekara – Deputy Manager Moratuwa Branch, Sajeewani Hapugala – Deputy Manager Trade Services and Amanda Pakianathan – Management Trainee Corporate Banking – 1. 

The Interbank Quiz is organised annually with the objective of dissemination of knowledge on diverse areas such as current affairs, banking law, international trade, sports and entertainment while encouraging interbank fellowship and fostering the networking among bankers.
