Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) as the nation’s management mentor, is committed towards creating new knowledge for the benefit of its students as well as the wider business community, and with this endeavour and task in mind, encourages its faculty to continuously collaborate with other parties in publishing cutting edge world-class research as well as corporate case studies.
PIM Senior Lecturer Tharindu Ameresekere has recently presented his case study on the digital payment and Fintech adoption efforts of LankaClear via their Lanka QR payment system at the AIB South Asia conference hosted by the Indian Institute of Management (Vishakhapatnam).
The LankaQR payment system is a game-changer in enabling the adoption of a Fintech technology at a grass root level and the case study captured the essence of the impact of the technology on the Lankan economic actors as Ameresekere shared the lessons from the case study and implications of it for the Government and the business organisations with a diverse audience of professionals and academics at the recently concluded conference.
PIM also officially handed over the case study to the LankaClear CEO Channa De Silva in a symbolic gesture of PIM’s commitment to collaborate and work together with the corporate sector of Sri Lanka in highlighting their efforts by them towards strengthening the economy. The handover was done by PIM Director Dr. Senaka Kelum Gamage together with the author, Ameresekere.
