Lankaputhra Development Bank inaugurates business activities for New Year 2018

The Lankaputhra Development Bank inaugurated its business activities for the New Year 2018 recently with blessing for the country. The event took place at the auspicious time amidst chanting Seth Pirith and blessings of Maha Sangha. Chairman of the bank Ruwan Gallage, working director Thuwan Riza Hameet, General Manager and CEO of the bank Ranjith Dissanayake, senior management and a large number of customers were present at this occasion. 

Expressing views at the inauguration Chairman Ruwan Gallage stated that according to the reports the Lankaputhra Development Bank has achieved its maximum progress in history during the last year. He stressed that the bank should face the New Year 2018 in a more dynamic manner than the previous year. He requested the staff of the bank to render their services in a more effective and vigorous manner. The chairman also requested the staff to recall their service given to the bank in the last year. 

Addressing the gathering, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the bank Ranjith Dissanayake said that he will be committed to work for the upliftment of the bank at every possible moment. He pointed out that it is the responsibility of the staff of LDB to give priority for the requirements of the customers. Dissanayake also stated that the year 2018 would be a decisive year for the bank. 

The Lankaputhra Development Bank has implemented several special loan schemes which have been introduced by the Ministry of Finance. The special feature of these loan schemes is that the entrepreneurs of the country are able to obtain loan facilities under concessionary interest rates. The loan schemes namely ‘Jaya Isura’, ‘Run Aswenna’, ‘Rivi Bala Savi’, and ‘Govi Navoda’ are now effective by the bank at present. The LDB has opened and are maintaining branches in Colombo, Hambantota, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Kegalle, Wennappuwa, Batticaloa and Trincomalee areas at present. These branches are rendering a unique service to the small and medium scale entrepreneurs (SMEs) in these areas.
