For the third consecutive year, LankaPay – Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network– has partnered Sri Lanka’s premier annual Cyber Security Summit 2017 edition as the Official Payment Network.

The summit, which will be held on 27 and 28 September at Cinnamon Grand, consists of three key events: the Cyber Security Day Conference and Hangout with Hackers (Night Hack) – an innovative and informative evening on 27 September and the CEOs’ Forum on Cyber Security on 28 September.

The summit is co-organised by the Daily FT and CICRA, Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organisation.

Speaking on the importance of Lanka Pay being present at the Cyber Security Summit, LankaClear General Manager/CEO Channa de Silva said: “We are delighted to be associated with the 5th Cyber Security Summit jointly organised by Daily FT and the CICRA Institute for the third consecutive year as the Official Payment Network. Organisations across the world, especially those in the financial sector, have become vulnerable in the face of rising security incidents, which are not only growing in numbers but also in terms of complexity. Hence, LankaClear, the operator of the National Payment Network LankaPay, considers ensuring security across our entire network to be the highest priority among all our operations. Therefore, it is pertinent and absolutely critical to raise awareness on cyber security, propelling Sri Lankan organisations to be vigilant over emerging cyber security threats.

“As Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network, we consider security to be fundamental to our operations and we have thrived to be on par with the latest international information security standards. Becoming the first and the only Sri Lankan entity to be awarded the coveted PCI-DSS ver 3.2 certification, which is the highest international security standards for the payment card industry, signifies our commitment to our brand promise of being Sri Lanka’s trusted payment network. It is in this light that we find great synergy in partnering the Cyber Security Summit,” de Silva added.

CICRA Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that the co-organisers were delighted to have LankaPay as a partner of the summit for the third consecutive year.

“This year’s summit will be a bigger and better experience with a number of international and local experts addressing the gathering. The highlight of the event will be the two founder members of the world’s toughest hacking groups – LulzSec and Anonymous. They had been convicted and are now engaged in ethical hacking,” Dayaratne revealed.

“The main objective of the summit is to create awareness over the importance of cyber security among top officers in top corporate management and IT professionals. It also infuses them with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing and measuring information security postures of their organisations and countermeasures.”

“The summit will also expose the latest flaws in information security that affect the global community, including corporations and governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field,” Dayaratne added.
