LIC Lanka expands footprint with inauguration of tower in Jaffna

LIC Lanka Ltd. unveiled its newly-constructed LIC Lanka Tower in Jaffna on 27 September, a milestone achievement for the fast-growing life insurance company as it expands its footprint in Sri Lanka to the north. 

With an asset base of Rs. 2.8 billion and 30 branches in Sri Lanka, the newly-constructed LIC Lanka Tower in Jaffna will reinforce its commitment to serve its policyholders in the north and affirms its positive outlook on the economic potential in the region. The LIC Lanka Tower was inaugurated by LIC India Managing Director T.C. Suseel Kumar in the presence of Bartleet Group of Companies Chairman and LIC Lanka Director Eraj Wijesinghe, Lanka Ashok Leyland CEO and LIC Lanka Director Umesh Gautam, LIC Lanka Ltd. Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director S.C. Pattanayak, and Indian High Commission in Jaffna Acting Consul General Shri Rameshwar Bhakta. T.C. Suseel Kumar in his speech emphasised the significance of expanding to the north for the company highlighting the investment as a ‘symbol of trust, safety, and stability for the customers’.  LIC Lanka Ltd. is a joint venture between the Life Insurance Corporation of India, India’s largest insurer with an asset base of over $ 440 billion, and the Bartleet Group, a Sri Lankan conglomerate that operates across IT, agriculture, trading and finance sectors since 1904.
