Lanka Credit and Business Finance Ltd. opened its 10th branch in Tangalle yesterday in keeping with its ambition to be committed to the development of the rural economy.
The CEO/Executive Director stated that another branch in the deep south in Daiyandara is scheduled to be opened on 27 January which will be its 11th branch and with the Akuressa Branch to open by mid-February their branch network will reach 12 branches before 31 March.
They are of the view that this initiative will contribute to uplifting the livelihood of the people in the areas to be served by these branches and revitalise the rural economy of the respective locality. Their deposit products such as ‘Sihina Ayojana’ accounts and Minor savings account ‘Podiththa’ are designed to save for the future of the depositor backed by Lending products by way of Lease, Loans, and Gold Loans to improve existing enterprises.
LCB plans to devote special attention to providing working capital to the unemployed youth to either enter into self-employed projects or improve their existing ventures.
Through the Tangalle branch they plan to focus on catering to the financial needs of the Fisheries sector and small and medium enterprises related to tourism. Daiyandara and Akuressa branches are to serve the agriculture industry in particular and other small and medium existing and new enterprises in general.
The company hopes to expand its branch network to 22 before the end of 2022.
