The Institute of Internal Auditors of Sri Lanka will be organising the Chief Internal Auditors (CIA) Forum on the theme of ‘Leading the Internal Audit Transformation’ on 22 November 2022 at Marino Beach Hotel Colombo, from 9:00 a.m. onwards.
Internal Audit functions were compelled to undertake transformation and innovation initiatives further to pandemic fuelled changes in working models, which helped make internal audit functions more visible and value adding in many organisations. In an age of global uncertainty, the role of the internal auditors create the equilibrium between sustainable growth and internal control framework for organisations worldwide.
Internal Auditors also face immense pressure from their stakeholders to provide solutions to multiple challenges faced by their organisation in this dynamic environment. In meeting the demands of their stakeholders, Chief Internal Auditors must ensure that the units that they head are well equipped in terms both technology and talent in order to add value on a consistent basis during the periods of uncertainty. This in turn requires the Internal Audit shops to continuously re-invent themselves and thereby go through multiple processes of transformation.
Providing insights to Chief Internal Auditors and their senior team members on leading the Internal Audit transformational processes would be the main objective of the CIA forum 2022 which is expected to draw the participation of Chief Internal Auditors and other Senior Internal Auditors from various industries and from those involved in practice.
The distinguished panel of speakers at this forum consists of (ISC) 2 Colombo Chapter President Sujit Christy who is expected to focus on the impact of “Internal Audit partnering Cyber Security to Navigate the Age of Digital Risk”.
Virtusa Corporation Senior Director and Global Internal Audit Department Head Sonali Wickremarathe will highlight the “Role of Internal Audit in Supporting Organisations through change and disruption”.
Dialog Axiata PLC Group Chief Internal Auditor Arosha Indujeeva will speak on “Strategies for adopting data analytics and automation for excellence in internal audit”.
The forum will also feature a panel discussion moderated by Laugfs Holdings PLC Chief Internal Auditor Prasenna Balachandran.
The panel would comprise of the three speakers mentioned above as well as Moore Stephens Consulting Ltd & Moore Aiyar Managing Director and Managing Partner Tishan Subasinghe and Prima Group Executive Director /Group General Manager Lawrence Chan.
During the panel discussion, the moderator will draw upon the collective expertise of the eminent panelists to provide answers to key questions from the individual presentations made as well as on the expectations from the Internal Auditors from the Board of Directors and the Senior Management. The audience will also be given the opportunity to raise their questions to the panelists during this session.
Drawing from the vision and vast expertise of the leaders engaged in diverse spheres of the internal audit landscape, this forum and its outcomes will spearhead thought leadership across multiple sectors.
The forum will also seek solutions to promote transformation and provide guidance for innovations to be made in line with shared goals, such as optimisation of the organisational values.
