The International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) together with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will be facilitating a joint seminar on the new Foreign Exchange Control Act on Wednesday, 13 December at the CA Auditorium.
The New Foreign Exchange Act No. 12 of 2017 repeals the Exchange Control Act No. 24 of 1953 (Chapter 423) and focuses on attracting more foreign exchange to the country and facilitates Sri Lanka companies to expand overseas.
The Keynote presentation will be made by Udeni Alawattage, Director, Foreign Exchange Department of Central Bank while Pavithri Vithanage, Senior Assistant Director, Legal and Compliance, Central Bank will also present at the seminar.
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion. The Panellists are Shanil Fernando, Secretary – ICCSL/Director – Colombo Stock Exchange, Ayomi Aluwihare Gunawardena, Precedent Partner – FJ & De Saram, and N.R. Gajendran, CA Sri Lanka Tax faculty. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman of the Faculty of Taxation, CA Sri Lanka, will moderate the panel discussion.
