Last Monday, I had to hand over the above payments (which were given to me by my son-in-law who is an accountant of a private company) to the respective departments.
For the payment of Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), I had to visit the department located at 13, Sir Baron Jayatilleke Mawatha, Colombo 1. Thereafter, I had to go to the Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) department housed in the office of Ceybank Asset Management Limited at 85, York Street, Colombo 1 to make the payment in respect of the ETF.
This is to request the authorities responsible to consider locating the ETF office in the EPF office itself which I noticed is a spacious one. (EPF office could sublet a small area to ETF, that is, to only accept the payments). Or another option is to relocate in an adjoining building or an office in the same street.
This will save a lot of time and also it will be convenient for the employer because both the payments have to be made anyway on behalf of their employees.
The best option, of course, in this digital era, is for the above departments to go digital in order to make the settlement of both EPF and ETF remittances online.
