DFCC Bank recently launched its own credit card offering in partnership with Visa. The cards will only be available under the Visa premium product range. They comprise the Visa Gold, Visa Platinum, Visa Signature, Visa Infinite and Visa Corporate.

DFCC Deputy CEO Thimal Perera said: “Starting from the card design itself we have done everything to ensure that our cards stand to our loyal customers.”

He stated that the Visa Infinite Card will have a vertical design to ensure that it is easily recognisable in a wallet or purse.

Speaking about the special features of the cards, Perera said: “We offer 1% cash back on all point of sale (POS) transactions done both locally and internationally which will be automatically transferred to any savings account that the user may choose.” He said that this is a smart way of profit accumulation for major spenders.

All cards will also include the Visa PayWave feature which enables users to make payments by way of the card. It ensures much faster and secure payments. Already over 6,000 merchants in Sri Lanka facilitate this feature.

The cards will be free of interest within 51 days of making a payment. After 51 days the Visa Gold and Platinum will be subjected to an interest of 28% and the Visa Signature and Infinite will be subjected to an interest of 24%. The DFCC Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cardholders also receive special benefits when they travel: free travel insurance from Allianz Insurance when the air ticket is purchased with the DFCC Credit card, free access to over 900 airport lounges worldwide and exclusive Visa offers at partner merchants worldwide.

The Visa Infinite card will only be available to DFCC premier customers and will not be subjected to an annual charge.

In a symbolic gesture recognising that DFCC Bank’s current success is based on the vision and efforts of those who have gone before, the first set of credit cards were handed over to former chairman Rajan Brito and former DFCC Bank CEOs Moksevi Prelis, Nihal Fonseka and Arjun Fernando and L.G. Perera, former CEO of DFCC Vardhana Bank by DFCC Chairman Royle Jansz, CEO Lakshman Silva and Deputy CEO Thimal Perera.
