ComBank gives credit card holders 2 million reasons to switch to e-statements

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has committed more than Rs. 2 million to encourage the bank’s credit card holders to do their bit for the planet by opting for electronic statements instead of printed statements. 

The bank has announced that all ComBank credit card holders who newly register and existing credit card holders that have chosen the ‘e-statements only’ option would go into a draw to win two fabulous tour packages to Singapore inclusive of return air tickets, hotel accommodation with bed and breakfast and airport transfers. Additionally, the first 1,000 credit card holders that convert to e-statements during the campaign period will each receive 2,000 Max Loyalty Rewards points. The Max Loyalty Rewards Points allocated as rewards can be redeemed by cardholders at the rate of one Rupee per point, making a total of Rs. 2 million in value.

This campaign is set to run till 10 April, and is intended to achieve a further reduction in the consumption of paper in its operations, the bank said. 

Commenting on the launch of this promotion, Commercial Bank Head of Card Centre Thusitha Suraweera said: “Besides being environment-friendly, e-statements are also more convenient, as they reach cardholders quicker and can be accessed from their mobile devices at anytime, anywhere. This campaign invites our cardholders to support our Green Banking initiative and win rewards.”

Notably, Commercial Bank was named the ‘Green Company of the Year’ in 2018 and was named among the ‘Top Green Companies in Asia’ in 2017 at the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards that honour the region’s finest and most responsible corporate leaders.

Commercial Bank Credit and Debit Cards offer year-round promotions covering a wide variety of services. Commercial Bank was the first bank to offer loyalty rewards for both credit and debit cardholders under its Max Loyalty Rewards Points scheme. The bank was also a pioneer in extending promotional discount offers which were traditionally only offered for credit cards to its debit cards.
