Colombo hosts Fintech Weekend of Asia-Pacific Executives Forum

The Fintech Weekend of the Asia-Pacific Executives Forum was recently held at Hilton Colombo. The forum was jointly organised by Colorado, USA-based American Academy of Project Management (AAPM), and Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM), in collaboration with Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL) and various other institutions.

There were a number of topics being addressed at the forum with the focus having been on Fintech.

A speech on ‘Introduction to Fintech and Blockchain’ was delivered by FASL President Rajkumar Kanagasingam.

Guest Presentations were delivered by AGSEP interns Elina Gansweith (Germany) on ‘Micro Plastic in Bottled Drinking Water’ and Kevin Cordshagen (Germany) on ‘Sports Exchange: Potentials and Advantages of Sport Tourism for Sri Lanka’.

Dietmar Doering, Ph.D., and Tissa Jayaweera, Ph.D., spoke on the subjects ‘The City of London, Where All The Money Goes’ and ‘Fintech Applications’, respectively.

This was followed by the AAPM/GAFM certification awarding, and Dexter Fernando, Ph.D., delivered the Vote of Thanks.
