Ceylon Chamber to hold seminar on new Inland Revenue Act

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is organising a seminar to create awareness on the new Inland Revenue Act, which will be taken up for debate in the Parliament today (25).

The seminar, which will be addressed by the senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Inland Revenue and also independent tax specialists will help the private sector to gain a clear understanding of the income tax implications of the new Act.

The seminar to be held on 31 August at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce starting at 2 p.m. will be kicked off with presentations by Ernst & Young Partner Sulaiman Nisthar and KPMG Partner – Tax Shamila Jayasekera.

The duo’s presentations will be followed by a panel discussion, which will feature Department of Inland Revenue Commissioner General Ivan Dissananayake and Ministry of Finance Tax Policy Advisor Thanuja Perera.
